Bestselling Authors Launch New Books at Story Hour

Nellist, who lives in Dearborn, is author of "Little Mole Finds Hope," newly released by Beaming Books. It is the gentle tale of Little Mole, who is feeling bad inside and doesn't know why. His wise mother realizes he needs hope and takes him on a journey to find hope in a flower bulb, bare branches, and a chrysalis.
"I wanted to explore the idea that there is hope but sometimes it's hard to find," said Nellist. "Hope is found in the dark places like a bulb under the soil. It can be found in the darkest places."
She chose a mole in part because there are so many books featuring bunnies, but also because the main creature needed to be literally and figuratively in the dark.

Bowman is author of "Little Duckling's Easter Prayers," (Zonderkidz) which combines charming illustrations and 15 prayers based on themes related to spring, Easter, and new life.
Each prayer, Bowman said, addresses the presence of God in nature. A Bible reference is included with each one.
"I try to show that just as we celebrate new life in the springtime, Easter is a celebration of new life in Jesus," said Bowman, author of numerous books and a Grand Rapids resident. "Easter is a celebration of the victory we have in Jesus."
Bowman and Nellist will each read from their new books during the story time, with books available for purchase and signing by the authors.
