Our Daily Bread Debuts Podcast for Christian Women

Written by Ann Byle on . Posted in Local

God HearsHerPodcastGod Hears Her, a new podcast from Our Daily Bread Ministries, offers Christian women a place to connect and explore the truth that God hears, loves, and sees them. Hosted by Elisa Morgan, former president of MOPS International and cohost of the radio program Discover the Word, and Eryn Eddy, founder of the lifestyle clothing brand So Worth Loving, God Hears Her debuted May 11.

The first season includes 12 episodes released each Monday on all podcast platforms including Google Play, Spotify, and iTunes, as well as via the website www.godhearsher.org. Each episode runs about 30 minutes and features personal stories from the cohosts and occasional guests. Season one will include guest appearances by Christian thought leaders Margaret Feinberg and Philip Yancey.

The podcast has its roots in the popular book God Hears Her: 365 Devotions for Women by Women, published by Our Daily Bread Publishing, based in Grand Rapids. The devotional is one of the publishing house's most popular, prompting both the podcast and a second book in the series. God Sees Her: 365 Devotions for Women by Women released in March.

"The devotional really resonated with women so we wondered whether a podcast would connect as well," said Daniel Day, creator and producer of the God Hears Her podcast. "What made the devotional so applicable was its stories of everyday life. Women write about how God meets them in everyday life through Scripture, prayer, and the Spirit. It's one of the best-selling devotionals Our Daily Bread has ever published."

Day, cohost of Discover the Word with Morgan, came on staff at Our Daily Bread specifically to develop podcasts. It wasn't long before the God Hears Her podcast was born.

"We hear from women who have seen God, as well as hear from a male perspective on how God hears and sees women," said Day. "The podcast presents a broad range of stories of women who have struggled to see love and feel noticed by God."

Seasons 2 and 3 of the God Hears Her podcast are in development now.

"We want to provide a space for women to access deep places to know God sees, hears, and knows them, and has an important role for them," said Day. "God has gifted women so they can contribute in the spaces he's placed them."
