Degage Ministries Makes Plans to Open Annual Christmas Store. Donations Sought

Written by Paul R. Kopenkoskey on . Posted in Local

Degage Xmas StoreDegage Ministries will once again bring Christmas cheer to low-income and homeless people living in the Grand Rapids area with its annual Christmas store.

Donations will be accepted so low-income and homeless residents living in the Heartside neighborhood can purchase gifts for family and friends.

A donation gift list may be read here and may be made at any Center for Physical Rehabilitation:  or by purchasing from Degage's Amazon wish list

Donated products are then sold to residents at reduced prices, providing an opportunity for shoppers to feel dignity and value in not only choosing, but also paying for the gift items. Those who cannot afford to purchase gifts may earn Degage dollars to use for shopping.

Donations must be received no later than Dec. 9.

The public may donate items for the store, as well as volunteer to help run it, when it is open Dec. 16 and 17 at LaGrave Christian Reformed Church. Masks must worn by volunteers and shoppers at all times, and the number of shoppers will be regulated to ensure social distancing is maintained.

Those wishing to volunteer to man the Christmas store can find more information here.
